Born in Helensville to a Welsh father and a Cook Island mother, Bryn undertook leadership roles in sports and church groups with his easy-going and serving personality. After completing his trade as a fitter & turner and mechanical engineering at AUT, he left for an extended overseas experience. Bryn spent nine years in the UK, two years for Bentley Motor Cars and three years in France, where he learnt to speak French. Bryn currently works in the estimating department of a Tier 1 construction company, bringing important and exciting projects to the country and the Pacific Islands.

“I want to protect the freedoms and experiences I grew up with for future generations that will come after me, giving constituents of the Panmure-Ōtāhuhu electorate the choice to have a better life, for them and their children.”

Bryn’s interests include:

  • The outdoors, tramping.
  • Ocean swimming.
  • Cycling - two years ago he completed the Tour Aotearoa, a cycle trip following many of the great cycle trials from Cape Reinga to Bluff.

Bryn is passionate about health and well-being. He has taken a particular interest in depression and hopes to champion the area of mental health in his electorate. Depression is widespread across the nation and many are affected even for those not directly battling with it. Affordable, healthy homes are linked with mental well-being. New Zealand has an above average level of dampness and mould in homes and this requires urgent attention. Bryn is a good listener, thus hopefully ensuring solutions that work.
