Jolene is a stay-at-home mum of two young children, working hard to raise them to be confident, critical thinkers so they can grow to be healthy, happy adults.

“I feel strongly that we need better resources to support our people for a bright future for New Zealand.”

Prior to having children, Jolene studied psychology and criminology, with the goal of working in a field where she can help people. During her study she did voluntary work in child protection and domestic violence cases over a two year period. Jolene completed her degree and went on to work in mental health.

Concern about the future of New Zealand has brought Jolene into the political arena. She believes that now is the time to explore alternative options in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jolene’s particular areas of interest are:

  • Mental health
  • Poverty
  • Enabling children to grow up in happy, healthy environments
  • Supporting families and local businesses
  • Ensuring adequate housing and access to healthy food
