Mit moved to New Zealand in 2003 with his wife Chaula. They have two children. Mit was born and raised in a middle-class family in India, but decided to give their family the best opportunities by migrating to New Zealand.

“Myself and my family are so thankful to the people of Aotearoa for embracing us and allowing us to make our dream of a secure and well-established future come true.”

Mit’s passion is immigration. Being a migrant, he is keenly aware of the issues that migrants face. He feels the vulnerability and exploitation of migrants is an issue that requires specific attention. Mit believes that a lack of education and mis-information among migrants exists, and this is an area where he is keen to make a difference in.

Currently working with the Ministry of Justice as an employee of Fujitsu New Zealand, Mit’s background is in IT. He has previously worked with Fonterra for seven years (employed by HP New Zealand), MBIE - Ministry Of Business Innovation & Employment (employed by Fujitsu New Zealand), Auckland Council, ASB (contractor), AUT (Contractor) and ABB.

Mit is proudly standing for Advance NZ because he has a strong desire to contribute to making effective changes regarding immigration.
